A New York City Holiday

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season! As it's been tradition on my blog, I'm taking you for yet another tour around New York City for the holidays! Here is the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center above the ice skating ring.

This year I went to the Top of the Rock (the top of the Rockefeller Center skyscraper) to admire the New York City skyline at night. You can see the Empire State building on the far left. It was a cool experience!

And here is a street view of the Empire State Building illuminated with holiday lights at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 45th Street.

I also went to visit Times Square which sparkles with holiday glitter.

Here is a shot of a skyscraper all lit up near Bryant Park.

This is one of Macy's holiday window displays--so much fun to look at as they are colorful and animated!

The best for last! Our kitty cat Allie under our Christmas tree. She is truly a gift! Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays and a great 2018! xo

Foliage Peak

Hi everyone! As promised, I'm back to share more Fall colors. This week, the foliage is at its peak. Here is a close-up of oak leaves in my backyard.

And here is a paronamic view of my backyard. Leaves keep on falling! The colorful oak tree stands out amidst the other trees that are still lusciously green.

Believe it or not, flowers are still blooming in coordinating Fall colors! Here are some pretty flowers in purple and lavender from a local farm.

One of the most beautiful things in Autumn is the way the morning sunlight enhances the colors. And that blue sky!

Here are more Fall flowers. Nature's decor is just so elegant.

And finally a view from my front yard. I hope you enjoyed Fall from my neck of the woods! xx

Fall Colors

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying the change in seasons! Although Fall doesn't start until September 22, I'm beginning to see some changes in nature. These beautiful flowers are from our local farmer's market. Bright orange, reds and yellows are typical Fall colors.

After the Solar Eclipse, which was just amazing, the sun has shown some unusual colors, with brighter orange and red sun rays. Here is a sunrise over the woods in our backyard. You can see some leaves have turned golden and are starting to fall.

Here is a close-up of the golden leaves lit up by morning sunshine.

In other news, my husband and I adopted a cute kitten! Her name is Allie and here she is looking at the view in our side yard. She's an indoor cat but she enjoys looking at nature from our patio door.

Here she is blending in with the beautiful colors of nature in the background. Doesn't she look comfy? A sweet addition to our home and family! I hope you enjoyed these colorful images and I'll see you soon as colors change through the season. xx

Summer Guests

We had surprise visitors in our backyard this morning. Momma deer and baby fawn! Isn't it cute how the fawn is peeking from behind the tree?

The mother was staring right at at the camera, not seemingly afraid and kind of curious, don't you think? The little fawn was exploring the surroundings.

Here is one more picture as they start to wander away. Well, this was a fun encounter!

And just a couple of summer flowers. I love this pink bloom with the red barn in the background.

And my favorites--sunflowers! These are from our local farmer's market, which we go to on Saturdays. I hope you enjoyed meeting some of our friends and neighbors! Have a great weekend! xx

Summer and the City

It's been hot the last couple of weeks with temperatures in the 80's and 90's. But that didn't stop me from walking around the city. I visited Rockefeller Center where the Christmas tree is lit up at Holiday time, and it's just as nice in the summer. Here is the iconic Rockefeller Center skyscraper. So tall!

Right in front of the skyscraper, there was a podium, and this colorful mural caught my eye.

There are are fountains in the same area, refreshing on a hot day! This fountain featured a dragonfly sculpture, so pretty.

Right across the street, here is Saint Patrick's Cathedral, so unique and beautiful with its Gothic architecture juxtaposed to the modern skyscrapers.

Walking down Fifth Avenue, there are many tourists and shops at every corner.

Here is a gift shop full of New York City memorabilia which tourists love to browse. I hope you enjoyed this little stroll in the city and have a fun rest of summer wherever you are! xx
